Psalm 119:149 reads, “Hear my voice, O LORD, according to your loving-kindness; according to your judgments, give me life.”
This verse is a concise expression of a deep prayer of mine. I also believe the prayers of many that we all serve and love are an echo of this heartfelt cry. We are blessed to be a blessing; we are loved and so we love. We are deeply aware of our dependence upon God and His church to experience the fullness of his love and care for our lives.
Perpetua of Carthage, a third-century martyr, said, “Stand fast in the faith, and love one another.” May we all do so and more.
Lord, you ask us not to fear but to trust. Help our unbelief and grant us faith to stand fast in our love for one another. Amen.
